“I’d say out of any given week it probably takes up more than half of my time,” says Adam Schindler, a student at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
“It’s a big part of my life,” says 21-year-old Chris Skinner. “And even when we have problems at home, with an internet connection. It’s like the whole world has crumbled, sadly enough.”
Internet addiction. It’s become so common the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto has started a new treatment program for teens.
Experts say signs that your child might be in trouble include isolation, giving up activities he or she used to enjoy and irritability.

nhunghuynh Fork In The Road
So I'm stuck at a fork in the road at the moment. I feel quite stressed and quite frankly the right choice isn't the clearest. So what to do? I'm finishing my medical science degree but have no real passion in the research field. It would be something I wouldn't mind doing but not forever. In the mean time I've failed to gain entry into a medical degree which is leaving me feeling quite down. I feel like a failure, which is such an awful feeling. Thinking about it makes my stomach plunge and all I want to do is crawl up into a ball and hide.
The last three years of my life feel like the biggest waste of time. I finish up with a degree, a nice little debt and no job. Yay. I wonder at times what the point of me going to university was. At the moment I can't seem to see one. I'm meant to be celebrating but I don't feel like I deserve to. I never feel like I deserve anything. The lack of support from my parents makes me really sad. They just don't understand. I aparently have no skills... (more)
